The American School in Shanghai, China, a K-12 private school, expanded its facilities. The expansion containing 189,000 square feet of floor area includes a three-story cast-in-place concrete High School gymnasium. The gymnasium roof structure is a unique long span steel truss system. The facade is a combination of veneer stone and stucco on concrete masonry backup and a glass curtain wall encloses the gymnasium, making the interior visible and establishing a focal point of the school.
