The first phase of Drexel University’s student housing expansion began with the Race Street Residences. The 12-story steel framed structure contains 131,000 square of area and houses 486 students. The “L” shaped floor plan forms a central plaza for the building entrance and the unique exterior produced an award winning building.
The project received the Construction Excellence Award in the category “Best Design Build Project” from the General Building Contractors Association (GBCA). The GBCA featured the residence hall on the cover of its industry publication Construction Today.
